F.A.C.E. KEEP THEIR PROMISE
At the F.A.C.E. (Fundraising in Arboleas, Caring for Everyone) Summer Market held at the beginning of July, a promise was made by F.A.C.E. that they would fund the purchase of a television for the meeting room at the then new premises of M.A.C.S. (Mojacar Area Cancer Support) in Huercal Overa.
Although the promised cash for the end of July was in place, the television its self did not materialise. The reason for this was that the television required needed a special keypad or remote control with large buttons so that it could be operated by people who have Peripheral Neuropathy. This a major problem for some people who are also suffering from cancer and it can also affect other people with major health problems such as diabetics.
Peripheral neuropathy occurs as a result of damage to your peripheral nerves which often causes weakness, numbness and pain, usually in your hands and feet but it can also affect other areas of a person’s body.
The acquisition of the type of television required, was made a little difficult during the Spanish holiday month of August, however F.A.C.E. are pleased to announce that their promise has now been full filled, if a little later than was originally hoped, and the brand new television has been installed at the M.A.C.S. Huercal Overa premises.
