ROWING FOR CANCER: FABULOUS FASHION SHOW AT LA PIEDRA BAR AND GRILL

With just a few days to go until the fashion show at La Piedra in aid of Rowing For Cancer: The Kayak Challenge, everyone involved is getting really excited. The show is being presented by Glamour, Glamour Fashions, at La Piedra Bar and Grill, Gran Alacant, on Thursday 15 October. All proceeds will help towards expenses such as fuel costs for the support vehicle for Dave and Mitch Bull’s Kayak Challenge. More about that later.

VIP tickets are on sale at just €5 per person. For this, ladies will be served cava and canapés, at 11.30 am, and will be able to bag a bargain at the preview before taking their reserved seats in time for the start of the show at 12.30 p.m.

Once the show is over, there are some fabulous foods on offer, and there’s an exclusive preview for everyone who rocks up at La Piedra. The guys and girls are really going for it, and to introduce their latest idea – Fabulous Friday Fish and Chips for just a Fiver- you can try fish and chips, Cajun chicken and chips or just plain chicken and chips, all beautifully cooked and presented, for just €5.

It’s going to be a great event, so if you haven’t already got your VIP tickets, or booked your fish and chips, give La Piedra a call on 865 66 97 99, or call in and see Rachel or one of the team. Life in Spain is all about having fun – even when you’re raising funds, and with Dave Bull on his home turf, there’s going to be lots of fun.

On Saturday 28 November, Dave and Mitch will row 52 kilometers – around 32 miles – along the River Segura from Murcia City to Guardamar de Segura. The boys will be stopping off at various places, including El Raal, Orihuela, Benejuzar, Algorfa, Formentera, and Rojales, where they will be resting, chatting to supporters and collecting donations. The fashion show is a fund raiser for those who are unable to come along on the day, or would like to support the fundraising initiative in another way.

All money raised from sponsorship on the day of the Kayak Challenge, plus any surplus funds once essential expenses are met will go to the Spanish cancer charity AECC, and the boys are also raising awareness of the work of Samaritans in Spain. Dave is patron of the charity, and a member of the immediate family has been recently diagnosed with cancer, so the boys are putting their hearts and souls into this, and aim to raise at least €5,000.
