Ryanair has warned that flights from the UK could be halted for ‘weeks or months’ if an early Brexit deal on international aviation is not reached.

The airline, which is based in Dublin, takes advantage of Europe-wide ‘open skies’ regulations that allow all EU airlines to fly in and out of any country signed up to the agreement – including the UK.

But with the UK set to leave the EU in 2019, Ryanair chief financial officer Neil Sorahan has admitted that the move could have huge implications for the UK aviation industry.

He told said: ‘Europe has been very clear in recent days that no deals are going to be put in place, they are not planning to put any special deals in place.
