THE PONIENTE Hospital in El Ejido has upgraded its paediatrics provisions.

An investment of 25,000 euros has allowed for a remodelling of the facilities including brighter decoration and more comfortable furniture specifically for young patients.

Previously, the Poniente had two paediatric units. The remodelled 108-square metre floor space has increased the specialist paediatric facilities from two to three consultation units with a fourth exclusively dedicated conducting tests.

The Equality, Health and Social Policies in Almeria representative, José María Martín, visited the new space and said: “from now on, the children who have to go to a consultation at the Hospital de Poniente, will have an area with greater privacy, more comfortable, with modern facilities.”

The Unit of Clinical Management (UGC) of Paediatrics of the Poniente had 7,041 consultations in 2016 of which 2,550 were first -time visits and the rest follow-up appointments.
