IN CONJUNCTION with the Spanish startup company Glovo, McDonald’s has launched its McDelivery – the home delivery service in Spain.
Showing a 10% rise on 2015’s figures, the fast food chain is clearly keeping up with consumer habits, having posted sales of over €600 million last year.
At the moment, the new home delivery service is only available in Madrid and Barcelona, but there are plans to introduce it gradually across the rest of Spain.
McDonald’s is working with the Spanish startup Glovo, whose job it is to guarantee delivery of the orders placed via the application.
Available during each restaurant’s normal opening hours, even in the case of those that are open 24 hours, there is no minimum order in order to use the service.
Mario Barbosa, the president and director general of McDonald’s Spain, explained that this “strategic move” comes in response to the most common requests from consumers and from the “desire to help everyone share moments of happiness.”
“We are proud to make this happen at last in collaboration with Glovo, already in Madrid and Barcelona and coming soon to other Spanish cities”, he added.
