AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has been held on suspicion of stealing livestock from two farms in the village of Abla.
Suspicions were raised when a Guardia Civil patrol spotted a moped parked near a warehouse off the A-92 motorway.
As they approached, four individuals, two of whom were riding a second motorcycle, emerged and one was heard to say “with what we get out of this we will get €50 each.”
When they spotted the officers the quartet fled, two on foot, of whom one dropped his wallet, which contained an identity card corresponding to the owner of the stationary moped, who has now been arrested.
Upon entering the warehouse, the officers found two live lambs and two calves estimated to be worth €260, which had been stolen the previous evening.
