THE PERENIALLY popular town of Albox is thriving in 2017.
Situated in Almeria, within the heart of the Almanzora valley, this multicultural delight is just a short drive inland through eye-capturing mountain ranges and luscious countryside full of olive groves and citrus orchards.
A traditional white-washed Spanish market town, it is home to around 11,000 inhabitants, many of whom are British expats.
Residents can relax about their health with a 24 hour medical centre and major hospital Huercal Overa just short drive away.
If you need to cool off in the heat then there is a huge municipal swimming pool, a typical feature of inland Spanish towns.
Several fiestas are held each year where everyone gets together and showcases a fantastic community spirit.
Plentiful markets are held Tuesday and Saturday mornings where the streets fill with a vast array of stalls selling everything from meat and cakes to candles and incense.
Albox has the perfect all-year round temperate climate with temperatures rarely falling below 18ºC and clear blue skies are a regular sight. During the summer months the temperature rises to around 30ºC with autumn generally milder but still warm between 23 and 27 degrees celsius.
