THE Socialist PSOE Party is calling on the Spanish government to address the wage parity between different branches of the police by 2020.

The move is a bid to counter the loss of the 118 officers of the National Police and Civil Guard in Almería since 2011.

Proposals include a wage increase of €400 per month, and new equipment including bulletproof vests.

It also includes a budget commitment for the construction of new stations for the National Police in Roquetas de Mar and Guardia Civil in Vícar requiring an investment of €1.8 million.
