More than 200,000 people travelled by train between Almeria and Madrid in 2017

TRAVEL: More than 200,000 people used the direct service between Almeria and Madrid last year.

THE Talgo trains used by Renfe to carry passengers between Almeria and Madrid were used by more than 200,500 passengers last year.

The figure represents a 3.6 per cent increase from the previous year, with some 7,000 new users.

Similar to the previous year, the most popular months for travel were in summer, with August seeing a total of 24,400 travellers using the service.

Renfe currently puts 4 Talgo direct trains between Almeria and the Spanish capital and now offer services to Barcelona, Bilbao, Cordoba, Cadiz, Valencia and Valladolid as well.
