A 46-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in Almeria after he was allegedly found with more than 140 wraps of hashish inside him.

The man was first found by officers when they approached a vehicle carrying five people on the A-7 in Turre (Almeria) and he reportedly became instantly very nervous.

Due to his behaviour, officers proceeded to inspect the car and found a bag, which gave off a very strong smell of faeces, containing several wraps of hasish, presumably recently passed out by the alleged individual.

The man was arrested for an alleged crime against public health, with officers seizing the 52 wraps weighing an estimated 380 grams.

After he was arrested, the man reportedly informed officers that he still had several more wraps inside his body and was subsequently transferred to hospital.

The man spent several days in hospital and during that time, a total of 94 further wraps were removed from his body, bringing the total seizure to 146 wraps weighing an estimated 1.019 kilos.
