A 38-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in Huercal Overa on suspicion of robbing a delivery man at knifepoint.
According to reports in Spanish media, the incident occurred after a man had called a restaurant in Huercal Overa with a hidden number to place an order.
In an odd request, the man reportedly asked for the food to be delivered to a shady area of the town, where there are no lights, and also asked the delivery man to bring change for a €100 note.
Upon arrival, the delivery man was allegedly approached by a man carrying a knife and demanding that he hand over the money he was carrying and made off with roughly €180 in cash.
Following the robbery, police were reportedly able to trace the telephone number used to make the original which led them to the 38-year-old individual.
The man, a resident of Huercal-Overa, reportedly had prior arrests for crimes against patrimony and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation with a weapon.
