THE GUARDIA CIVIL has arrested two Almerian residents accused of forgery and fraud involving the irregular sales of up to 18 different vehicles.

An investigation first began in January after two vehicles were reported stolen from the same rental company in Almeria.

Officers were then able to analyse the information about an alleged purchase sale of the vehicles, in which up to 18 fraudulent operations were reportedly discovered.

According to reports, the two would allegedly rent vehicles from agencies and then fraudulently sell them on to other citizens in the region.

Once the action was determined, officers were able to arrest a 37-year-old resident of Pulpi and a 55-year-old resident of Vera as alleged perpetrators of the crimes.
