A PETITION created to help increase the efforts in the search for the missing 8-year-old boy in Nijar has hit 40,000 signatures in less than 24 hours.
Searches continued on Friday morning to help find missing Gabriel Cruz Ramirez, who was last seen on Tuesday afternoon after leaving his grandmother’s house in Las Hortichuelas.
Up to 500 volunteers and police officers have been involved in efforts to find him so far, and have been combing fields in and trawling through tough terrain in and around where Gabriel disappeared, but to no avail as of yet.
At the time of writing, the signature count on the change.org petition was at 40,398 just 20 hours after it was created.
Moni Menendez, who created the petition, has requested more resources be added to the search, such as Army officials and motorway camera footage.
She wrote on the page: “We need to find Gabriel! He is only 8 years old! We do not have anything yet!
“Please help a broken family and friends.
“We request more sources, such as the Army to look for the child, please. We request to check motorway cameras and that the Army collaborates in the search.”
