MORE than 1,500 dancers came together to take part in the annual dance convention Levantate y Baila in Mojacar, organised by Hotel Servigroup.

It is an event that draws in both professionals and amateurs of bachata and salsa every year from all over Spain and it has become one of the most attractive diary dates across Europe for this type of dance, when Mojacar becomes the capital of Latin rhythms.

The ongoing success of the weekend is borne out by the high number of participants after it was fully booked within a month, plus the presence of well-known dancers such as Versy and Rodrigo, Mambologia and Afro Flow, among others.

For those attending, it was an exciting time of non-stop music, dance, concerts, performances and competitions with workshops given by the on-site professionals, all taking place in the unbeatable facilities of the Marina Mar Hotel.

The Servigroup chain started the event eight years ago, and this is the fourth time it has been held in Mojacar.

This year’s theme was Ancient Greece, with the spectacle including impressive acrobats and fire shows that transported everyone back to the time of myths and legends.
