MOJACAR recently held its third annual competition in the Provincial Beach Tennis Circuit, organised by Almeria provincial council in collaboration with the town hall.
A sporting but fun tournament with the aim of promoting beach tennis to both tourists and residents, registration was free of charge with all the necessary equipment provided.
Around 50 players turned up, spread over the different categories for men, women, doubles and youngsters up to the ages of 14 and 16.
Mojacar sports councillor, Ana Garcia, was there on the beach to see the games throughout the day and was delighted with the high level of both play and participation.
In her mind, however, the great relaxed atmosphere and sportsmanship were the highlights of the competition whatever the results.
In the end, Laura Mulero Parra and Gustavo Staniscia came first with David Franco Lopez and Daniel Fernando Ortega second, followed by Diego and Damian Navarro in third position.
