A 47-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital after emergency services were called out to rescue him from the Monte de los Frailes area due to a fall.
The Emergency Services 112 line received a call from a witness to the accident at around 7pm yesterday (Sunday).
The witness said the man had fallen near the Loma Pelada and that he seemed to have injured his ankles.
Emergency services sources said Guardia Civil officers were joined by those from the Maritime Rescue service and Local Police personnel from Nijar.
The man had to be picked up in a helicopter due to difficulties in reaching him in the mountainous terrain. He was then transferred to Torrecardenas Hospital in Almeria City.
