A CORPSE has been found on a beach in Almeria, the second time human remains have been found in the province in less than 24 hours.

The man’s body was located after the 112 emergency services line received a call from a local resident yesterday (Sunday) morning.

They were told it lay between the San Miguel de Cabo de Gata and Almadraba de Monteleva beaches near Almeria City.

The local told authorities he had found the corpse lying face down on the sand in what was reportedly an advanced state of decay.

Guardia Civil officers have been called in to investigate the find and to establish how the man died. No initial theory as to the cause of death has been given so far.

The find comes as the remains of another person were found in the sea in the area on Saturday. What caused the death of this person is currently unclear.
