THE 19th Hole Golf Society played their Monthly Medal in sweltering heat as the temperatures steadily rise on an Aguilon Golf course which belies the conditions.

Quite a few members still choose to walk in the searing heat and two of the first three prove you can still play while melting.

Bernie Obrien won the Men’s Medal with an impressive 68, which was only a single shot ahead of George Reid and Bob Tagg (69). George took second spot, winning on count-back.

The Lady’s Medal saw three players separated by just three shots, with Chrissie Dow emerging triumphant after scoring a creditable 74. There were two 2s recorded by Nekane Galindez on the 3rd and Tommy Seed on the 12th. The highlight of the day was Tommy Seed’s ‘eagle 3’ on the 18th hole.
