Social media was filled with video and pictures from fans and onlookers to the shoot. One featured Chris Pine, who plays the soldier Steve Trevor in the film, riding on a bicycle near to the Alcazaba.
The film’s producers have also announced they will donate €18,000 to the Alcazaba in gratitude for being able to use the monument. Almeria City officials allowed the filmmakers to shoot there for free.
Miguel Angel Vazquez, the Junta de Andalucia’s Culture spokesperson, said the money would go towards research and conservation at the fortress.
