A GROUP in La Alfoquia has organised a ‘Race Night’ next month in aid for this year’s Children In Need.

The night, set to go ahead on Saturday November 17, may also feature a live link to the BBC’s Children In Need broadcast according to the organisers. The event is due to be held at Bar La Union.

The Race Night is set to start at 6.30pm, with tickets priced at €12. Half of the ticket price will be donated to Children In Need.

The programme for the evening includes an auction of quality second-hand items, with the organisers having appealed for anyone with goods to donate to do so before the event.

“All funds raised at the auction will go to the great cause that is Children In Need,” the organisers said.

The ticket price also includes a fully cooked buffet. The race night and auction will be followed by a comedy show and live music performances.

There could also be a direct live link to the BBC Children In Need show which is being broadcast the same night. The event’s organisers said the chances of making the link depended on the broadcaster’s schedule.

Organisers are currently waiting on the BBC to print and send posters set to feature more information on how to donate directly to Children In Need.

Anyone who would like more information or to buy a ticket can contact Bar La Union.

Children In Need supports around 2,400 projects across Britain aimed at helping disadvantaged children stay safe, happy and get opportunities to achieve their full potential. Fundraisers for the event take place every year along with a star-studded broadcast featuring show mascot Pudsey Bear.
