Even greener in Huercal-Overa

HUERCAL-OVERA Council has made its Green Way walking route even greener, planting 35 olive trees.

Huercal-Overa Mayor Domingo Fernandez and Infrastructure and Services Maintenance and Conservation Councillor Blas Sanchez were there to oversee work start on planting the trees in the area near to the Municipal Animal Refuge Centre and the Urcal access roundabout.

The Mayor commented that the olive trees not only made this area of the walking route look prettier, they would also provide shade for walkers in the hotter months.

Fernandez said the local authority aimed to “improve the environment of our municipality at the same time as we create, regenerate and improve green areas.”
