Following online reports that he had been placed on their wanted list, President Lukashenko invited representatives of Ukraine’s SBU to visit Belarus to speak with him.

While talking to reporters today, Friday, October 21, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made a few comments about recent online news articles claiming that he is wanted by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

According to BElta, he made the remarks while visiting the combined-arms military training area Obuz-Lesnovsky in Brest Oblast Belarus.

Responding to these claims, Aleksandr Lukashenko commented: “There is no need to put my name on the wanted list. I am here. If SBU needs it, they may come here. If they want to see me, they are welcome to”.

Reports claiming that Lukashenko is wanted by Ukraine’s SBU started appearing online the other day. However, the SBU refuted the news as fake later on.

“Who would want to confirm it officially? They had to leak the news first and see the response. I’ve told you what my initial response was: feel free to come, not a problem. I can meet with them and talk to them in your presence”, he continued.

“We will ensure 100 per cent security in our part of the territory. We are open people, we have nothing to fear”. the president stressed.
