POLICE in Norway have arrested two Russians for reportedly filming military facilities, according to reports from Russia on Monday, October 24.

Police in Norway’s province of Nordland have detained two Russians for reportedly filming military facilities, TV2 reported.

“Two Russian citizens have been detained by police in Nordland. According to our sources, they are suspected of filming military installations,” the report said.

The two accused are a man and a woman in their 30s.

Apparently, police found their car was discovered completely by chance during a traffic control in Bjerkvik on Saturday, October 22.

“This is as a result of the extra vigilance you have in society at the moment. Photographic equipment was discovered in the car, which was seized and will now be examined.”

They were arrested made on Saturday, October 22 were charged with illegal photography and were remanded in custody on October 24.

In recent weeks, several Russian citizens with drones have been arrested and detained in Norway.

Due to the sanctions against Russia, it is not permitted for Russian citizens to fly drones on Norwegian territory.
