A shooting incident in the Mitt region city of Gävle has resulted in a man being hospitalised.
According to the police in the Mitt region, one person has been taken by ambulance to hospital after a shooting incident that occurred in the Gävleborg County city of Gävle late on Saturday, November 5.
Several police patrols were deployed to the Sätra district at around 8.30 pm on Saturday evening after reports of loud explosions. An injured man was subsequently found outside a building and immediately rushed to a hospital.
It had initially been concluded that these loud bangs were most likely related to the person being found injured. Later in the evening though, the police confirmed that there had been a shooting incident.
Several factors in the investigation indicate that the shooting took place in a criminal environment, the police said shortly after midnight. They have since cordoned the suspected crime scene off and units on site are working on a series of investigative measures.
No suspect has been arrested yet and the police have urged people who may have made witnessed something in connection with the incident to get in touch. Right now, several serious violent crimes that have taken place recently in Gävle are being investigated, as reported by svt.se.
