The bomb squad is on site after a loud explosion occurred on the balcony of a house in the Swedish town of Vallentuna.

 

According to the police and emergency services, an explosion is reported to have occurred on the balcony of a property in the city of Vallentuna in Stockholm County on Friday evening, November 4.

Pia Glenvik, a Stockholm police officer on duty at the time of the incident has confirmed that nobody was injured in the event.

The police reportedly received two notifications of a loud bang being heard in a residential area in the municipality shortly before midnight. Emergency services, including the police and an ambulance were immediately deployed to the location.

Alexander Westerberg an emergency line operator at RC Mitt, confirmed that something had exploded on a balcony but no fire had to be extinguished, as reported by svt.se.

He added that there are no reports of any personal injuries, but that some windows were slightly damaged. Residents in the property evacuated on their own initiative.

Glenvik commented that it is unclear exactly what happened as callers say they heard several bangs followed by a loud bang. “We are carrying out a technical investigation and the national bomb protection is in place, she continued. At the moment, no one has been arrested over the incident.
