Swiss luxury watchmakers MB&F, Maximilian Büsser & Friends won the prestigious Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or award for their Legacy Machine Sequential Evo model, according to a report by Euro News.

The award ceremony which took place on Thursday, November 10, in Geneva was the 22nd edition of Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, according to a report published in Euro News.

The Grand Prix is an annual watchmaking event that takes place each year in November since 2001 and is dubbed the industry equivalent of the Oscars. The world’s most prestigious luxury watch manufacturers each year present their best watches during the event in the hope of winning the grand prize.

The “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix awarded to watchmakers MB&F is given to the best watch in the show. MB&F is an artistic concept laboratory founded to bring together a collective of independent watchmaking specialists who create radical timepieces known as Horological or Legacy Machines, according to the report.

For this year’s edition of the award, 90 timepieces were nominated, including 84 watches and 6 clocks, in 15 different categories.
