Suárez and Cavani to play their last World Cup this year

The veterans will compete in the FIFA World Cup in 2022 for the fourth time in a row

Uruguayan strikers Luis Suárez, and Edinson Cavani along with three others have been selected to participate in this year´s FIFA World Cup, starting on November 20 in Qatar, according to a report by Associated Press on Friday, November 11. Uruguay’s lineup for the tournament in Qatar, led by veterans and emerging stars like as Federico Valverde, was named Thursday by coach Diego Alonso,

Both Suárez and Cavani are expected to compete in their fourth and last World Cup. While Suárez leads Uruguay as the top, scoring 68 goals in 134 games, Cavani comes in second with 58 goals in 133 games.

Asides from them, three other veterans were also picked to the squad including goalkeeper Fernando Muslera as well as defenders Diego Godn and Martn Cáceres.

Uruguay is in Group H, including Portugal, South Korea, and Ghana. On November 24, the squad will face South Korea in its opening encounter in Qatar.
