Taylor Swift wins best artist award at the MTV Europe Music Awards

The American pop artists also won the awards for the best video, best longform video and the best pop 

Taylor swift won the top price at this year’s MTV Europe music awards show which was held in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Sunday, November 13. According to a report in DW, the American artist made a surprise appearance at the award show when she personally came to accept the awards for the best artist. Taylor also won awards in three other categories including best video, best longform video and best pop, the report states.  

While talking about her video “All too well”, which won the best video award, Taylor said “i felt like I learned so much about how making film can be a natural extension of my storytelling”. The 32-year-old artist also added that, “The fans are the only reason any of this happens for me”. 

Aside from her, British star Harry Styles was also nominated in seven categories, but only won the award for the best live at. American rapper Niki Minaj was also amongst the winners, as they won the award for best song in hip hop for “Super Freaky Girl,”. French DJ David Guetta also won the award for the best electronic song. 

The best rock song was won by the British band Muse for their song. According to the report, Muse´s lead singer Matthew Bellamy said the group was dedicating the prize to the people of Ukraine and Iran.
