The Guiness Book of world records to include Elon Musk after he lost the most wealth ever in History
Elon Musk has made history by being the first person to ever lose over $182 billion.
According to a report by Fortune on Wednesday, January 11, authorities at Guiness World Record, Musk, the cofounder of several companies including Tesla, suffered the largest loss of personal wealth in history.
It said, “the exact figure was almost impossible to ascertain because the calculation is based on an estimation by Forbes”, adding, “other sources which have valued Musk more highly suggest he could have lost closer to $200 billion”.
Musk also lost his tittle at the world´s richest man to Bernard Arnault, the founder of luxury goods multinational Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy. Arnault who has earlier also been at the top of this list, has an estimated net worth of over $190 billion.
By losing such a huge amount in his personal wealth, Musk overtook the previous record holder of this tittle Japanese tech investor Masayoshi Son.
Masayoshi has last created record after he lost an estimated $58.6 billion in 2000.
But despite suffering such a huge loss, Tesla is still valued at roughly ~389 billion, after its phenomenal rise during 2020 and 2021.
