Twelve German soldiers were injured during a military exercise after two Puma infantry fighting vehicles crashed
German military police is investigating a case involving two injured soldiers after they were involved in a crash between two Puma infantry vehicles.
According to a report in Reuters on Wednesday, February 1, the incident took place at a training facility in easter Germany.
Authorities have said that one of the soldiers has been seriously injured in the incident, adding, but his injuries are not reported to be life threatening.
Each of the Puma vehicles weigh about 40 tonnes at a training ground in Altmark, 50 kilometres from Madgeburg.
Built by KMW and Rheinmetall, the Puma infantry fighting vehicle will be replacing older Marder vehicles.
The vehicle has been withdrawn a key NATO mission also last year by Germany after it faced problems during a drill.
