Russian President Putin says Russian military must stop the shelling from Ukraine on its territory which has left many people homeless

President Vladimir Putin has announced that the Russian military need to stop the shelling done by forces in Ukraine on its territory.

According to a report in Reuters, Putin made this statement on Wednesday, February 1, while addressing a meeting related to the restoration of infrastructure including housing in southwest Russia, which borders Ukraine.

“Of course, the priority task is to eliminate the very possibility of shelling. But this is the business of the military department”, he said.

Putin also said that regions in Russia including Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk are the regions where houses have been destroyed or faced damage. He also said that the situation was similar in Crimea, which was annexed from Ukraine in 2014.

“Many people found themselves in a difficult situation, lost their homes, were forced to move to relatives or to temporary places of residence, faced interruptions in the supply of water, heat, and electricity,” he said.
