A 16-year-old student from France had killed his Spanish teacher after stabbing her to death 

Officials in France have said that a student from a Roman Catholic high school has killed his Spanish language teacher after he stabbed her with a knife.  

According to Reuters, the incident took place on Wednesday, February 22, in the town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz in France.  

After the incident, local media reported that other students ran in panic, adding that two students had witnessed the stabbing as they were present in the same room when it happened.  

The student reportedly stood up in his classroom and walked to the door. He then briefly turned around next to the teacher and stabbed her.  

Authorities also said that the woman killed was in her 50´s. 

Meanwhile, media sources state that the student informed another teacher that he was “possessed and had heard voices that instructed him to carry out the attack”, as per Reuters.  

Jerome Bourrier, who is the local prosecutor stated that the student is being held in custody, while a murder investigation has been started.  

Bourrier also stated that the authorities suspected that the student had preplanned the attack.
