Top cardinal says Pope will leave hospital on Saturday, April 1, after he complained about facing difficulty breathing
Pope Francis was recently hospitalised after he suffered from breathing issues.
According to a top cardinal cited by Reuters, he is now expected to leave hospital on Saturday and could take part in the Easter week celebrations.
The 86-year-old suffers from several ailments and after complaning about breathing issues, was rushed to Rome´s Gemelli hospital.
A statement by the Vatican said, “he was already much better after beginning treatment with antibiotics and would probably be discharged within a few days”.
Giovanni Battista Re, the dean of the college of cardinals said, “the dean of the college of cardinals”.
Re also added that “arrangements had been made for Francis to be supported by a cardinal in each of these celebrations, and that the cardinal would take care of altar duties”.
