Harry was accompanied along with Elton John who are among seven people to start a law suit against Daily mail´s publisher over privacy
UK´s Prince Harry appeared in a court on Monday, March 27, along with British singer Elton John to begin a lawsuit they have filed against the publisher of the newspaper Daily Mail.
Harry has brought a lawsuit against Associated Newspapers (ANL) along with Johin, his husband David Furnish, and actors Elizabeth Hurley and Sadie Frost.
According to Reuters, they allege that several “unlawful acts” have been carried out against they by journalists or private detectives who were working “on behalf of ANL´s papers, the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday”.
A statement by their lawyer David Sherborne said, “These allegations include hacking messages on mobile phone, tapping calls, bugging calls, getting private information such as medical records by deception or blagging, and commissioning the breaking and entry into private property”.
Sherborne also said that “The alleged activity ran from 1993 to 2011, and even up to 2018”.
Meanwhile, ANL in statement said that “it categorically denies the allegations and would vigorously defend them if necessary”, as they seek to have the case thrown out.
