President Volodymyr Zelensky urges Europe to speed up the supply of weapons to Ukraine

Ukrainian president Zelensky during an address to European Union leaders on Thursday, March 24, urged them to speed up the supply of weapons to fight the war against Russia.

He made this statement during a video address, as per Reuters, stating “it was up to the 27-nation bloc to take action to contain Russia more than a year into its invasion of Ukraine”.

Zelensky added, “otherwise the war could drag on for years”.

This statement was made by him after EU leaders held talks with United Nations chief Antonio Guterres.

He said, “If Europe waits, the evil may have time to regroup and prepare for years of war. It is in your power to prevent this”.

“Dear colleagues, do you not feel that we have had fewer successes than delays in our joint actions? Unfortunately, that is the case. And the Kremlin sees that,” he continued.

“We cannot keep delaying the transfer of weapons to our soldiers … we need modern aircraft. We talked about this. Is there truly any rational motivation in delays concerning modern aircraft?”, he added.
