Infamous host of the talk show The Jerry Springer shot dies at 79 after brief illness.

News anchor turned TV host, Jerry Springer has died at the ager of 79 after he suffered from a brief illness on Thursday, April 27.  

The former mayor of Cincinnati, US, famous for his show The Jerry Springer Show, which used to host dysfunctional families on television and used to include fights, arguments and obscenities.  

The show, at its peak, was a “powerhouse of ratings”, as per Euronews and aired for 27 seasons with nearly 5,000 episodes.  

Jene Galvin, a family spokesperson and friend of Springer in a statement said, “Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word”.  

She added, “He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humour will live on”. 

The show started from 1991 until 2018 and had episodes with titles such as  “Stripper Sex Turned Me Straight,” “Stop Pimpin’ My Twin Sister,” and “Hooking Up With My Therapist.”
