Claims by Wagner come after two British volunteers went missing in Ukraine last week

Russian mercenary group Wagner has claimed that their forces have discovered the body of one of the British volunteers reported missing in Ukraine.

According to a report by the Mirror on Wednesday, January 11, the claim was made by the founder of the mercinery group, Yevgeny Prigozhin who said that the body of 28-year-old Chris Parry had been found.

Parry along with the other missing volunteer Andrew Bagshaw went missing on Friday after they left Kramatorsk for Soledar.

Located in the eastern Donetsk region, Soledar has been witnessing heavy fighting for a few days now.

The report said that it is still unclear as to who amongst the two has been found dead by the Russian group.

The Wagner Group is considered to be the private army of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is reported to have over 8,000 soldiers.

A statement was also made by the press service of Prigozhin regarding the missing British nationals, that said, “On January 8, the Ask Wagner hotline received a request to find two British citizens who disappeared on January 6 in Soledar – Andrew Bagshaw and Christopher Parry.

“Today the body of one of them was found, documents on both Britons were found with him.”

The report also said that photos of what appear to be the two men’s passports were also shared.
