Croatian news site Index.hr have reported that the nation’s parliamentarians will be given a two-hour break on Wednesday to be able to watch the country take on Morocco in their first World Cup 2022 fixture.
The decision was announced by the Speaker of the House, Gordon Jandroković, who said that the vast majority of MPs wanted to see the game, and added that “if you have a problem with that, then don’t watch football and do your own thing”.
There will be a break in the Parliament’s schedule from 11am to 1pm, and then MPs will return to have a discussion of the budget proposal for 2023. The parliament has got a significant legislative agenda to process in the coming weeks prior to the winter break. It will sit every working day from Tuesday 22 November until December 15, and Jandroković has indicated that an extraordinary session will be organised if it is needed.
It is expected that the vote on the budget will take place on November 29.
