Fans celebrating in Argentina await the arrival of their national team, as local media posts links to flight tracker sites, to follow their plane in real time
As millions of fans across Argentina continue to celebrate their triumph in the FIFA 2022 World Cup, Lionel Messi along with the rest of their national team are already on their way home from Qatar. Messi took to social media on Monday, December 19, to inform his fans of their return, as he posted a photo, sporting their team jersey, while holding the World Cup trophy on the plane.
According to a report by the BBC, the Argentinian national football team are travelling on a special Aerolíneas Argentinas flight, scheduled to land in Buenos Aires on Tuesday morning.
Fans who have been celebrating across the country since the team’s victory against France on Sunday, are now preparing for a grand welcome for the team’s homecoming. The report said, ever since the departure of the team’s plane from Qatar, local media has been posting links to flight trackers sites, to prepare fans for their arrival.
Argentina’s first victory since the 1986 World Cup saw over a million fans gather in Bunes Aires, on Sunday night, the report said. More and more people came out on the streets to join the celebration, after the team’s victory, as celebrations took over the streets of the country.
The report also said, the World Cup victory has brought joy to the people of the Argentina, amidst times of economic hardships.
