Wonderful Morning for AMMA at Iceland
Saturday 4th April at Iceland, San Javier was a memorable day for all the shoppers! They sang as they collected their shopping and were entertained by 3 outstanding local performing groups SPANGLES, TAABS and Flamenco For All who entertained the shoppers for two hours thus helping AMMA (Alzheimer Mar Menor Association) during their selling of raffle tickets. A great morning was had by everyone, some dancing in the aisles and others singing along. Supporters of AMMA had been at Iceland every morning during the previous week selling tickets.
The fabulous sum of €2,108 was raised in total. AMMA does workshops at the moment in San Pedro at the pensioners club which is held two mornings a week, Wednesday and Friday, from 9.30am to 12.30am. There is a mixture of Spanish and Bristish patients under a highly trained professional staff with lots of volunteers to help during those hours. San Pedro Town Hall have kindly given us this room but we are trying to raise funds so that we can have our own accommodation and thus be able to take more patients with dementia illnesses. This will all take time but with the wonderful support we are receiving from the community we hope to reach this goal in a short time.
