Royal British Legion Albox Branch – Remembrance Service & Chritmas Poppy Dinner Dance

Members and guests from the Albox Branch of the RBL commemorated the Fallen in a service of Remembrance at the Chapel in la Aljambra on November 11th. The service was led by Duncan Burr (pictured), Chaplain to the Branch, and the silence impeccably observed by all present. During the service members and guests were invited to lay wreaths and place poppies and crosses as a token of remembrance to those lost but not forgotten (pictured). Sandy Tucker (Membership Secretary) sang a solo of ‘When I survey the wondrous cross’ and Judith Tope (Poppy Coordinator) recited a poem written 5 years ago by James Wiggins, called ‘The Battle of Britain’, commemorating the long air fight, well fought. The service concluded and those present enjoyed coffee and chocolate biscuits.
