The coastline of the Valencia Region is one of the most popular parts of Spain during the summer months.
The coast of the Alicante province is renowned for being home to the highest number of blue-flag beaches.
The region boasts 125 blue-flag beaches, which are spread out along the coast as follows:
- Costa del Azahar – 33 blue flags
- Costa Blanca – 62 blue flags
- Costa Valenciana – 30 blue flags
While the region has many stunning beaches consisting of golden sand and shallow waters, there are also plenty of quiet and undiscovered coves.
Although access may be difficult. These beaches are worth the trek to spend the day sunbathing and even diving, snorkelling or jet-skiing.
Cala del Moraig
This rocky cove is located in the region of Benitaxell. Situated between two mountains, the beach has crystal clear water. There is a car park plus a little chiringuito that serves food and drinks.
Cala Pinets
This cove is made up of sand and rocks, yet is surrounded by woodland and trees. There are rocks surrounding the beach and the water is very deep, which is fantastic for diving and snorkelling. You can access this cove on foot from Cala Fustera (5 mins) or by car.
Cala Tio Ximo
This cove offers amazing views of the Sierra Helada nearby. Actually a nudist beach, this beach is small and very tranquil. If you want to escape the hordes of tourists, this is the perfect place to go.
