LOCAL Line Dance Choreographer Carrie Ann Earl has been nominated for a prestigious Line Dancing award.
Carrie Ann, of Arboleas, is well known as a choreographer and trainer of the “Dusty Boots” exhibition Line Dance Group.
She is also a talented writer of Line Dances and has had several of the dances attain positions in the “Line Dance International” charts.
And for the third time in four years, one of her dances “Cowboy Contra Yodel” has been nominated for a Line Dance Crystal Boots Awards, held at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool at the end of January.
She is yet to take home the trophy, but In previous years Carrie Ann has been nominated for her dances “So Proud” and “Snow Girl Charleston”. These are classed as Beginner Dances, and once again this year the dance she has written an Absolute Beginner Dance, written to music by Cliona Hagen called Cowboy Yodel.
The Crystal Boots Awards are held every year, and this year will be the 22nd year since their inception.
They are promoted to encourage the introduction of new Line dances and to further the boundaries of Line Dancing.
Voting for the awards was carried out throughout 2017 and was decided by the Line Dancing community from around the world.
The results of the vote will be a closely guarded secret until the night of the Awards themselves on the evening of Saturday, January 27.
