THE shooting of a film starring Jude Law and Blake Lively has resulted in parts of Almeria City being transformed into the Moroccan city of Tangier for today (Thursday).

Some of the main scenes of The Rhythm Section are set to be shot in the city’s historical centre and port, as well as in the Bayyana district. They include a car chase involving dozens of vehicles before the protagonist of the film is seeing escaping on a ship.

The shoot will mean there is due to be roads cut and traffic restrictions as a result until around 8pm tonight. Some roads have reportedly been cut since 6am.

Parts of Almeria where the filming is set to take place, including near La Alcazaba, Calle La Reina and Plaza de Clara Campoamor, have also been given a Moroccan makeover.

Several Moroccan flags have been spotted flying in those areas and a sign in Arabic has been placed above the entrance to the city’s port.

The roads that will be affected include the A-7 exit 438 near the port and the N340a, also known as El Cañarete.

Bus line six’s route has also been rerouted towards El Puche. Passengers can transfer to line one at Fuente de los Peces to travel on to the Pescaderia are without needing a new ticket.

The Rhythm Section is a US-made film directed by Reed Morano and written by Mark Burnell. It is about a woman who seeks revenge after her family dies in a plane crash and is due for release in February 2019.
