New Gymnastic Facility in Arboleas
Adelante Gimnasia Artisitca, formerly known as Stacey’s Gymnastics Club in Sophia’s, is scheduled to open the doors to a new home on Saturday 1st October. This new gymnastic facility, fully equipped will now be able to offer more classes to accommodate their growing numbers.
The club, still run by Stacey, plans to provide quality gymnastics in the Arboleas area for all ages and levels of experience, from those who want to try gymnastics for the first time, to those who want to pursue the sport at competitive levels. This move is a big step for the gymnastics club, it will be sad to say goodbye to our original home at Sophia´s, but we haven’t moved too far, in fact we have moved right next door!
So if Paula and Phil thought they had seen the last of us, we´re afraid not.
Stacey started her life in gymnastics at the age of 6; she competed at County and Regional level and represented Britain in under 12 competitions. She trained in Bulgaria on two occasions at the age of seven and nine. At 17 she started her life as a coach and with her qualifications she taught professionally; taking both recreational and elite squads. She believes in giving children every opportunity in various sports, and with her experience and knowledge she plans to give back what she received from the sport.
She considers that the benefits of participation in sport and exercise for young people have immense value, and the making of the new Club shows just how much value we place on such exercise, not just for gymnasts but for members of our local community as well. We are fortunate to have an extremely supportive community and Town hall, which showed last week when so many people turned up to help turn the ´warehouse´ into a gymnastics club.
If there are any young budding Amy Tinkler´s or Max Whitlock´s out there, that would like to try out the sport, then please feel free to contact Stacey, or if there any adults, that would still like to learn a cartwheel or even a somersault, classes now available for all.
It just leaves Stacey to say “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all those who have helped make this possible, it´s beautiful to see, the kindness in so many people!”
