Car ploughs into cyclists killing two on Spain’s N-332


A 28-YEAR-OLD woman ploughed her car into a group of six cyclists in Oliva at approximately 8.30am yesterday morning.

Two cyclists died at the scene and a third later in hospital.

The accident occurred at kilometre 206 of the N-332 between Oliva and Denia.

The cyclists were taken by ambulance to the La Fe Hospital in Valencia, La Ribera de Alzira (Valencia) and Denia Hospital.

The victims were members of the triathlon group Llebeig de Xàbia Athletics Club.

After the accident, the N-332 road was cut by ambulances and an alternative route was established from Ondara to Oliva.

Guardia Civil arrested the driver at the scene  and she will face reckless homicide charges.
